they are basing it off the unemployment, national debt, DOW, NASDAQ and WallSt points dropping. But mostly off gut feelings. they really dont believe it will bounce back. I mean the WallSt dropped an all time low 700 points and then bounced back 400 the next day
they are just sayin it because it gives a nice story.

It’s not bothering me any, I sold a truck load of pop cans today! Sixty-five cents a pound, gas is down a quarter and my hens just started laying again. My cow was dry and corn’s so scarace we couldn’t feed the cow and the still too, boy, she made good burgers! I don’t use
banks so they don’t concern me, as long as I can remember where I buried those danged mason jars in the back yard. I leave the economy for those who wrecked it to worry about, I don’t have any money, so I won’t lose any and don’t give a big grand daddy about
something that’s not mine! I love this country! God Bless the USA!

The economy in turmoil is evidenced by the collapsing financial institutions and falling stock market.
The “worst financial crisis since the great depression” crowd really don’t have any numbers to back them up. They’re just going on their feelings without empirical evidence.

sinking GDP, tanking stock markets, rocketing unemployment, rising inflation, bankrupt banks, frozen credit markets, sagging same store sales, falling corporate profits…
